Only unclaimed property records with a value of $25 or greater are
included in the Treasury website database. If your name does not
appear on this list and you have received an unclaimed property mail
card notice, you may return the card along with required documentation
or contact our office directly at 1-888-844-8400
In addition to money and securities, the Alabama holdings include tangible property such as watches, jewelry, coins, currency, stamps, historical items and other miscellaneous articles.
Make sure you check with every state in which you have lived (unclaimed property is generally turned over to the state of your last known address as reflected on the records of the business holding your money, stock, etc.).
Notice is hereby given by Kay Ivey, State Treasurer, that the following names of persons or entities have been reported as owners of abandoned or unclaimed assets remitted to the State of Alabama during the time period listed above. Names and reported last known addresses (if any) recently reported will be highlighted in this update for three months. After that time, names will continue to be maintained in the cumulative list of unclaimed property owners until these assets have been returned to the rightful owner(s).
Newly reported owners are listed in the above alphabetical lists. Owners may claim their assets by filing for a claim form within the on-line cumulative database list of unclaimed property owners. Proof of ownership or appropriate documentation on all names and addresses reported to the Treasurer's Office will be required as part of the claim process. Once you have filed for a claim, this form will be mailed to you and must be completed and returned in order to receive payment.
Each year millions of dollars are turned over to the Alabama State Treasurer's Office by businesses who are unable to contact property owners. These funds may be in the form of cash, stocks, bonds, securities, insurance benefits, etc. Their site allows you to search the Alabama Treasurer's Unclaimed Property Database to determine if they may be holding unclaimed assets belonging to you or your family or business
